Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 can (14 oz) artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
  • 1 cup fresh spinach (or 10 oz frozen spinach, thawed and drained)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Optional Spices

  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Crushed red pepper flakes, to taste
  • Paprika, for garnish

Variations (Optional Add-ins)

  • Plant-based cream cheese and mayonnaise for vegan version
  • Additional cheeses like ricotta or shredded cheddar for extra cheesiness
  • Diced jalapeños or hot sauce for a spicy kick
  • Toasted breadcrumbs or crushed nuts for crunch
  • Fresh herbs such as dill, basil, or parsley

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Spinach and Artichokes: If using fresh spinach, sauté briefly in a pan until wilted, then squeeze out excess moisture. If using frozen spinach, thaw fully and press out water. Chop artichoke hearts coarsely if needed.
  2. Mix the Base Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and minced garlic until smooth and creamy to create the dip’s base.
  3. Add Spinach, Artichokes, and Cheese: Fold in the prepared spinach, artichoke hearts, grated Parmesan, and shredded mozzarella cheese, mixing until evenly combined.
  4. Season and Adjust: Add salt, black pepper, and any optional spices such as crushed red pepper flakes. Taste the mixture and adjust seasonings as preferred.
  5. Bake or Chill: Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden on top. Alternatively, refrigerate for a chilled dip option ideal for warmer days.

Notes

  • Use softened cream cheese for a smooth blend without lumps.
  • Drain spinach and artichokes thoroughly to prevent watery dip.
  • Try different cheeses like Gruyère or Monterey Jack for unique flavor variations.
  • Serving warm enhances the creamy texture and flavor.
  • Make a double batch to ensure there’s plenty for everyone at parties.
