Ingredients

Scale

Crescent Roll Dough

  • 1 package store-bought crescent roll dough (about 8 ounces)

Chicken Filling

  • 1 to 1 ½ cups cooked chicken breast, shredded or diced
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley or thyme, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: ¼ cup diced bell peppers or chopped spinach

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken Filling: Shred your cooked chicken breast into bite-sized pieces. In a bowl, combine the chicken with shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, fresh herbs, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly to create a creamy, well-seasoned filling.
  2. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s perfectly hot when you’re ready to bake. This temperature allows the crescent rolls to become golden and crisp while melting the cheese inside.
  3. Roll Out Crescent Dough: Unroll the crescent dough on a clean surface and separate it into triangles along the perforated lines. This will make wrapping the chicken filling easy and mess-free.
  4. Fill and Roll Up: Place a generous spoonful of the chicken mixture at the wide end of each crescent triangle. Carefully roll from the wide end to the point, making sure the filling is enclosed tightly to avoid leaks.
  5. Bake Until Golden: Arrange the rolled crescents on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until the rolls are a deep golden brown and the cheese bubbles inside.

Notes

  • Use warm chicken: Slightly warm the chicken before mixing for smoother blending with the cheese and spices.
  • Seal edges well: Pinch dough edges firmly to prevent filling from leaking during baking.
  • Don’t overfill: Keep filling portions moderate to avoid bursting or soggy rolls.
  • Brush with butter: Lightly brushing the tops with melted butter before baking adds extra golden color and flavor.
  • Add a dipping sauce: Serve with ranch, marinara, or honey mustard for a tasty companion.
