Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cheesecake Swirl: Beat softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, one egg, vanilla extract, and sour cream together in a bowl until smooth and creamy. Set aside for swirling into the brownie batter later.
  2. Make the Brownie Batter: In a separate bowl, whisk melted butter and granulated sugar until combined. Add eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Stir in cocoa powder, red food coloring, buttermilk, and vanilla extract until well blended. Gradually fold in the flour and baking powder until just combined, then mix in sour cream to maintain moisture and richness.
  3. Combine and Layer: Pour half of the brownie batter into a greased baking pan. Dollop spoonfuls of the cheesecake mixture evenly over the batter. Pour the remaining brownie batter over the cheesecake layer. Using a knife or skewer, gently swirl the layers together to create a marbled effect without fully blending them.
