Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • ¾ cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt

Wet Ingredients

  • ½ cup Butter (melted)
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 Eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Peanut Butter Swirl

  • ½ cup Creamy Peanut Butter

Optional Add-ins

  • ½ cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Pan and Ingredients: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal. Gather and measure all ingredients to ensure smooth assembly.
  2. Mix the Brownie Batter: Melt the butter and combine it with the granulated sugar until smooth and creamy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a thick, chocolatey batter forms. If using, fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  3. Add Peanut Butter Swirls: Spread half of the brownie batter evenly into the prepared pan. Drop dollops of creamy peanut butter evenly over the batter. Spoon the remaining brownie batter over the peanut butter dollops. Use a butter knife or skewer to gently swirl the peanut butter and chocolate batter together, creating a marbled pattern.
  4. Bake Until Gooey: Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out with moist crumbs but no wet batter. Avoid overbaking to maintain a gooey texture.
  5. Cool Completely and Serve: Remove brownies from the oven and allow them to cool completely in the pan. Once cooled, cut into squares and serve on their own or with your favorite toppings like crushed peanuts, mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, or a drizzle of chocolate or caramel sauce.

Notes

  • Use room temperature eggs and butter for better mixing and smoother batter.
  • Do not overmix the batter; stir just until the ingredients are combined to keep brownies fudgy.
  • Creamy peanut butter works best for smooth swirls without clumps.
  • Remove brownies from the oven when a toothpick shows moist crumbs to avoid dryness.
  • Allow brownies to cool fully to set the texture before cutting.
