Ingredients

Scale

Pasta Layer

  • 1 package (about 20 oz) cheese-filled ravioli (fresh or frozen)

Sausage Filling

  • 1 pound Italian sausage (sweet or spicy), casing removed
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, chopped

Alfredo Sauce

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Cheese Topping

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Sausage: Brown the Italian sausage in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks. Add the minced garlic and chopped onion, cooking until fragrant and golden. This mixture forms the flavorful base for the lasagna layers.
  2. Prepare the Alfredo Sauce: In a separate saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the heavy cream and gently simmer. Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Assemble the Layers: Spread a thin layer of Alfredo sauce in a baking dish. Arrange a layer of cheese ravioli on top. Spoon some of the cooked sausage mixture over the ravioli, then drizzle more Alfredo sauce. Repeat layering the ravioli, sausage mixture, and Alfredo sauce until ingredients are used up, finishing with a final layer of sauce. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses evenly on top.
  4. Bake Until Golden: Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for approximately 25 minutes. Remove the foil and continue baking for another 10 minutes to brown and melt the cheese perfectly.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Allow the lasagna to cool slightly for 10-15 minutes to set. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving warm, enjoying the creamy and savory layers in every bite.

Notes

  • Use quality fresh Italian sausage for authentic flavor and juicy texture.
  • Do not overuse Alfredo sauce to avoid sogginess; keep layers creamy but balanced.
  • Fresh ravioli cook faster and absorb flavors better than frozen ones.
  • Let the lasagna rest after baking to allow for cleaner slicing.
  • Mix Parmesan and mozzarella within layers for deeper cheesy flavor and meltiness.
